YouTuber Almost Lost His Livelyhood While YouTube Did Nothing
26 September 2019
YouTuber, Twoon, spent six weeks in limbo after all three of his YouTube channels were hacked and he almost lost his career. Meanwhile, YouTube did nothing.
After gathering over one-hundred thousand subscribers on the video sharing platform, one would assume that YouTube would have their back. But in the case of Twoon, that certainly didn't seem to be the case. Six weeks ago, Twoon's three YouTube channels were taken over by a hacker who then proceeded to regularly upload videos to the channels and take on ownership of Twoon's advertisement revenue.
After several calls for help on social media, YouTube still did nothing to help. Fans and fellow creators rallied behind Twoon and helped spread his message, but YouTube still did nothing. After growing tired of YouTube's inaction, Twoon took it upon himself to create a fourth YouTube channel where he uploaded several videos expressing his frustration with YouTube and the situation at large.
But now, after almost six weeks of inaction from YouTube, Twoon has finally gotten his channel back. Assisted by someone he spoke to on Twitter, Twoon managed to get his channel back within twelve hours. Twoon then took to Twitter to rant in a video about YouTube's incompetence, expressing his anger and frustration over the whole situation.
As great as it is that Twoon finally got his channels back, it is still disappointing to know that YouTube were practically no help to him whatsoever during his little crisis. Unforunately, I am sure that this will not be the last we hear of YouTube messing up and not doing right by their creators.
